Remitly is an online money transfer company with headquarters in Seattle, Washington, that provides international money transactions to more than 135 countries. Based on the funding methods, the amount of a customer’s principal, and the currencies used, Remitly makes money from transaction fees. In addition, the difference between the exchange rate supplied to clients and the exchange rate used for the company’s currency acquisitions, or foreign exchange spreads, is another source of profit for the business.
